Commerce Village

The interactive map for modern commerce architectures.

Welcome to the Commerce Village

Everyone talks about IT and commerce landscapes. But when we ask how someone actually pictures such a landscape, we often run into blank looks. That is why we built an interactive map that makes the complexity of modern IT architectures easy to understand.

For us, a high-performing commerce platform is like the well-oiled infrastructure of a small town. Sounds intriguing? Then come visit us in the Commerce Village.

So everyone finally understands what everyone is talking about

Because there was no map for commerce technology landscapes until now, we put exactly that kind of overview online. It makes no claim to be complete, but it is a translation you can follow. Because for us, a high-performing commerce platform works like the well-oiled infrastructure of a small town.

We've got a few questions for you, André

How do you come up with the idea of showing an e-commerce landscape as an interactive town? What value does the Commerce Village offer our customers? And what do our partners get out of being featured in the Village? Our CEO André answers these questions.

How did the idea of showing the e-commerce world as a town come about?

In architecture consulting we usually talk about the IT landscape or, put a bit more pointedly, the e-commerce landscape. In the end, though, that is always just a system diagram and not a real landscape. From that came the idea of showing such a diagram as a real landscape and using metaphors to provide visual orientation, so we can present the connections more clearly.

Was it clear from the start that your landscape would be a town?

No, not right away. As a first step we had the Monolith Mountains, the Commerce Clouds or the Data River in mind, for example. Over the course of working it out, the Commerce Village emerged. No longer a landscape with a map, but a little town with a town map. The idea of orientation through a visual map stayed.

Does the Commerce Village also have to do with the role customers assign to you?

Absolutely. The idea grew out of the fact that we are increasingly seen and approached as guides in the e-commerce tech jungle.
