Case Studies
Our clients and projects: from startups to enterprises, from B2C to B2B, from Shopware to commercetools.
At Shopmacher, there are no off-the-shelf projects. Every commerce architecture grows out of the specific needs of each client: PIM, ERP, middleware, shop, or all of it together as an integrated ecosystem. The collaboration starts with a thorough analysis of the existing processes, on which the right architecture is then built. At the same time, we embed our developers directly into our clients' teams to build knowledge there and enable real autonomy. Our goal is not dependency, but empowerment. On average, our collaborations last more than five years, not because our clients have to, but because they want to. Here is a selection of our work.

Anyone who wants to climb summits in the mountains needs solid, high-quality gear. Anyone who wants to reach the summit regions of online retail revenue needs an experienced, capable and creative e-commerce partner. Outdoor and mountain sports enthusiasts have been finding their gear since 2006 at Bergfreunde.de, one of Europe's leading and, for years, strongly growing online mountain sports outfitters.

A stable partnership gives rise to digital foresight: engbers and Shopmacher have worked together since 2009 to keep the online pioneer technologically ahead. With a custom-built retainer model, three relaunches and the early adoption of headless architecture, the partnership ensures that engbers remains technologically up to date today. The latest step: a backend relaunch based on commercetools, made possible by the early adoption of a composable architecture.

Interquell Petfood
A 16-month major project instead of a 6-month MVP. And everyone is happy.
Why would you switch off a high-end CMS when you want to put even more focus on individualized content in your online shops for B2C and B2B customers? Which tool is best for building an ambitious loyalty world? And how do you manage to run a shop relaunch and the rollout of a new ERP in parallel? Interquell Petfood found an answer to all these questions together with Shopmacher.

Leifheit
How Leifheit lays the foundation for scalable D2C commerce with Shopmacher

Osram
Shopmacher and Nekom bring Osram to China
In China, e-commerce sales channels work completely differently than they do here in Europe. The all-encompassing, market-dominating online medium there is WeChat. Originally developed as a messenger for smartphones, the service now dominates online life in the Middle Kingdom with an extremely broad range of functions. That is true for private life just as much as for business. This outstanding importance of WeChat therefore has to be factored in when developing strategies to digitalize B2B sales channels. Osram, long since transformed from a lamp manufacturer into a globally operating high-tech company in the field of lighting technology, has for many years regarded China as an important and growing market that is being developed accordingly. There, Osram sells selected product ranges to workshops through distributors. The outreach to workshops and the complete handling of commerce transactions now run through WeChat, in line with the market.

Paul Wiegand GmbH
Digital B2B transformation with a modular architecture
As an internationally operating B2B company with 10,000 customers, 90,000 items and multiple language and country shops, Paul Wiegand GmbH faced a wide-ranging challenge. Not just a new B2B shop, but a completely new digital infrastructure.

A very special experience, as André Roitzsch, CEO of Shopmacher, emphasizes: "When we can use our know-how to help prevent fires and save lives, that is a very rewarding and satisfying task."

servoprax
Shopmacher get the B2B commerce platforms of servoprax on track
When the system architecture around an aging online shop keeps growing more complex, performance and update capability often suffer. But how do you optimize such a construct without endangering ongoing operations? servoprax, an established wholesaler for medical products and medical accessories, faced exactly this question. So the company asked Shopmacher for help to take over the operation of its online shop and make it future-proof. The agency started with a comprehensive platform audit and then offered to first take over the operation of the commerce platforms and enable stable operations with a few smaller adjustments. After that, the optimization was tackled step by step.

Stoxxparts
Standard and C-parts available online for the first time at Stoxxparts
For B2B buyers of industrial goods in mechanical engineering, the automotive supply industry, construction, medical technology, the skilled trades and other specialized sectors, a new era begins now. The job of these purchasers gets a completely new look and workflow from A to Z, because they can now search for, find and conveniently buy online the standard and C-parts they need, parts that were often hard to track down before. Without exaggeration, this is a quantum leap in this area of digital procurement. All of this is now possible on the B2B online platform from Stoxxparts, which is live and waiting for buyer requests that are as exciting as they are unusual. The online platform offers customers in engineering and technical purchasing, who are looking for a specific product, an assembly or the product solution for their technical use case, a wide selection of standard parts, and the range is being expanded step by step. Pinpointing the right specialized article used to be at least laborious. Those days are now over. Thanks to the digitization of a broad assortment and a smartly designed product search, finding and buying the once hard-to-source, unusual specialized articles digitally is now almost child's play.
