SHOPMACHER earns TÜV certification for Trusted Development

Recognized: SHOPMACHER earns TÜV certification for Trusted Development
Around 2,000 service providers in Germany position themselves as commerce experts. But reliable benchmarks for their competence are missing. Retailers face the challenge of only being able to truly judge an agency's quality after working together, often too late.
At SHOPMACHER, we're now taking a new path. To offer our clients the highest quality and efficiency, we've always relied on standardized processes: from the first client inquiry and requirements gathering, through project management, to implementation, testing, and the final delivery of projects. Now we're going one step further: we had our entire development process certified by TÜV Trust IT GmbH, creating transparency in a market that has been hard to see through. The "Trusted Development" certification confirms our long-standing commitment to security and trust in digital development.
Why does SHOPMACHER love standardized processes?
Standardized development processes are more than just a buzzword for us. They form the backbone of our work and bring numerous benefits:
Efficiency: consistent workflows minimize friction and optimize our resources.
Higher quality: standardized processes help us deliver consistently high-quality results.
Seamless onboarding: new team members can quickly settle into our way of working.
Clear communication: consistent processes make collaboration within the team and with clients easier.
The road to TÜV
The decision to have our development standards certified by TÜV was a logical step for us. We were convinced of the quality of our processes and wanted it officially confirmed.
The certification process was intensive and included the following:
A four-and-a-half-hour audit with 150 questions covering all aspects of our work
Detailed insight into our tools and ways of working
A review of our company structure and role definitions
A penetration test on one of our sample projects
The result? We passed the certification with flying colors, without a single risk finding. Only five recommendations for further optimization were made, and we're working on them.
What does the certification mean for SHOPMACHER clients?
The TÜV certification is meant to give clients more confidence when choosing the right implementation partner. From now on, SHOPMACHER is certified to stand for:
What our certification stands for
Trustworthiness
An independent body has confirmed our processes and company organization to be sound, efficient, and secure.
Quality assurance
Standardized workflows ensure consistently high quality across all projects.
Transparency
Clearly defined processes make our work transparent and predictable.
Future readiness
Our methods make onboarding on new projects easier, as well as the handover and further development of existing ones.
The holistic approach of the project certification stands out in particular: it covers the entire development process, from the first client inquiry to the final delivery.
What happens next?
We wouldn't be SHOPMACHER if we rested on the TÜV certification. Naturally, it's an incentive for continuous improvement. We'll review the TÜV recommendations for further optimization and apply our processes even more consistently across all projects. And because our industry thrives on rapid change, we'll also renew the certification annually to always stay up to date.
The official handover of the certificate (printed and framed) takes place on October 30 at our office. We're proud of this recognition and see it as confirmation of our path, and as a promise to our clients to keep setting the highest standards in digital development in the future.
How healthy is your platform?
We review architecture, code quality, and processes with the same depth we applied to earn our own TÜV certification.
