SHOPMACHER EXPERTISE IN SHOP DEVELOPMENT WINS OVER THE BVB

The BVB online fan shop runs on Shopware software for both its B2C and B2B business and has delivered solid performance in selling fan merchandise of the eight-time German champions for years. "But just as in top-flight football, standing still in online merchandising always means falling a little behind. For our fan community and partners, we need and want our online offerings and services to keep evolving," says Matthias Zerber, Managing Director of BVB Merchandising GmbH. "Shopmacher are experts in developing enterprise platforms and also bring deep experience with Shopware. That makes Shopmacher an ideal addition to our merchandising team."

SHOPMACHER E-COMMERCE PLATFORM AUDIT AS A PARALLEL TO VIDEO ANALYSIS

For the BVB's sporting management, using video analysis to expose weaknesses and identify room for improvement is a given. Shopmacher take a very similar approach to the continuous improvement of commerce platforms.

With the e-commerce Health Check, we have developed a standardized method to quickly and efficiently gain an overview of the overall condition of an e-commerce platform and immediately derive concrete actions for improvement. The review of the online shops covers seven dimensions: system architecture, software, hosting, performance, deployment, UX and design, and content.

"With our e-commerce Health Check, which we also use for the BVB, shop operators can have their platform assessed quickly and competently by experts and identify room for improvement," says Carsten Dütschke, initiator of the structured Health Check method at Shopmacher. "That brings fresh momentum and better sales results, and that's what commerce is all about, after all."

Having completed the Health Check, the BVB and Shopmacher are now tackling the optimization process together.
