Shopware

Our technology partner Shopware provides a very powerful, open platform as fully integrated e-commerce software that has continuously evolved with market demands for more than 10 years. The system and licensing model are so modular that Shopware can be set up to fit both the needs of e-commerce beginners and the complex requirements of large enterprise merchants. Shopware offers all essential shop functions in one suite and grows with the requirements as needed.

We have been working with Shopware since our shared founding days around the year 2000. As the legend goes, parts of the first Shopware version came to life in the old Shopmacher villa in Gescher, where Shopmacher co-founder Thomas Gottheil and Shopware founder Stefan Hamann met for programming sessions back then. Shopware board member Sebastian Hamann began his training as a media designer at Shopmacher during that time, that much is on the record.

We did not really "choose" Shopware as a partner; we practically "grew up" together. But especially since the launch of Shopware 6 in early 2019, the share of Shopware installations at our company has grown rapidly. The product developers in Schöppingen have managed to transfer a stable, proven e-commerce foundation to a brand-new, cutting-edge architectural approach.

Like no other vendor, Shopware offers a scalable solution with version 6 that covers a very broad spectrum of requirements, from "very small" to "very large".

The IT architecture approach is a milestone among integrated e-commerce suites. The range of options for merchants extends from pure SaaS to a standard on-premise installation all the way to a connected Headless approach where Microservices are integrated. This is what creates the flexibility of deployment options mentioned above.

Shopware separates frontend and backend technically but offers both in one solution. In addition, Vue Storefront makes it possible to deliver more complex frontend requirements such as PWA. And across all variants the solution seamlessly provides an outstandingly user-friendly editorial environment, uniting tools for the integration of content and commerce like no other solution on the market. The "Rule Builder" is simply brilliant and a real benchmark.

We currently use Shopware's solutions with our clients 1A Medizintechnik, BVB, Collonil, gartenmoebel.de, Ledlenser, loungedreams.com, Provinzial, Radwelt, S.E.A., and ter Hürne.

In total, from our founding to today, we have delivered more than 50 e-commerce platforms in which we used Shopware as the solution.

In early 2022, Shopware received 100 million USD in growth capital for the first time, with PayPal and Carlyle as investors. The team from Schöppingen made it that far on their own, including the launch of the groundbreaking Shopware 6 version. Now, with the new possibilities and the network they have grown, we expect more great, innovative commerce technology from our neighbors in the future as well. And of course that also means long-term stability.
