In 2010, Coesfeld bike retailer RADWELT Coesfeld launched its first online shop. When it could no longer meet modern requirements for performance and security, the company decided to rebuild. With the help of Shopmacher, radwelt-shop.de switched from Shopware 5 to Shopware 6.

About RADWELT Coesfeld
Founded around 90 years ago, RADWELT Coesfeld GmbH is a leading family business in bike retail and positions itself as a reliable provider of high-quality bikes and accessories. The dedicated team at Radwelt Coesfeld, all keen cyclists themselves, not only advises customers competently but also offers individual solutions tailored to specific needs. Since 2007, Radwelt Coesfeld has also run its own online shop at Radwelt-Shop.de.
Challenge
RADWELT Coesfeld's existing Shopware 5 shop had grown a little dated over time. Performance and stability could barely keep up with modern requirements. When Shopware announced at the same time that it would no longer support Shopware 5 from 2024, the family business decided to rebuild.
Implementation
Together with Shopmacher, who had already delivered several redesigns for the Coesfeld team before, Radwelt evaluated possible systems and finally decided to move to Shopware 6. The reason: Shopware 6 seemed affordable to the mid-sized company and, thanks to features such as the Rule Builder and the Flow Builder, easy to use for shop managers too. In March 2023 we started the rebuild, and the new online shop launched at the end of October. In the process, our e-commerce experts not only modernized the technology but also refreshed the design. The entire shop now looks fresher and all products are presented better and in a more customer-focused way. We also adapted the extensive portfolio of shop features to Shopware 6.
Outcome
With the launch, we created a high-performance foundation for RADWELT Coesfeld on which all future technical innovations can be built. Now the company wants to use the quieter winter months to test the system's stability and carry out fine-tuning. This leaves the family business perfectly prepared for the upcoming online bike season 2024.
