Your own development team, built and integrated.
Know-how vs. power
Anyone already running e-commerce successfully often faces the challenge that the growing number of pending, business-relevant tasks regularly exceeds internal capacity, and possibly an agency's capacity too. Even when the necessary know-how is in place and it is largely clear what needs to be done, there are simply not enough people to deliver the tasks coming up at short notice.
Next step: your own development team
If the expertise is fundamentally there, building your own in-house development team becomes the obvious move when demand is recurring. The advantages are clear: short-term availability, full control over priorities, and lower costs compared to an agency day rate.

The developer: an unknown creature
The problem for many retailers is their employer brand in the technical world: they are often not an attractive employer for engineers. The culture, environment and way of working at many retailers does not match what the young technical elite is looking for. Talent has to be bought in at high cost, but is then not retained for long. The result: at best you find mediocre developers at high cost, a lot of effort and little return for retailers in a fiercely contested talent market. The price-performance ratio just does not add up.
The off-/nearshoring option
Recruiting highly specialized IT professionals abroad is becoming an increasingly popular solution to the problem above. But the success stories and horror stories about the results from the programmer in India, Romania, Lithuania or Portugal are pretty evenly matched. So how do you start, and what should you watch out for? Anyone who wants to take successful first steps here needs yet another competence: integration management.

This is exactly where we come in
Because that is exactly the sweet spot of Shopmacher Resources. We help ambitious digitizers with sustained, high development demand build their own development team (from 3 FTE). We staff the starting team based on concrete requirements, take care of onboarding and on-site management, and advise you on workflow and integration management from Germany. Once your team is running really well, you can take it over completely if you want to.
Why do we know how this works? We have been working with developers from Asia since 2016 and now run 2 locations with a total of 25 colleagues in Vietnam, seamlessly integrated into our intercontinental development teams.
