Regulations, complex B2B processes: everyday work for us as your strategic partner for healthcare commerce
Different rules apply in healthcare and medical technology: strict regulation, complex B2B structures, specific billing logics and customers who tolerate no mistakes, because they simply cannot afford them. Anyone building digital sales here does not need a generalist, but a partner who understands that every detail counts.
We bring both: deep e-commerce know-how and real industry understanding. We have stabilized and modernized wholesalers with dozens of subshops, without endangering ongoing operations for even a single day. For emergency (rescue) stations, we built a B2B commerce solution with PWA offline functionality that fully automates ordering processes. And headless closed shops that architecturally account for medical-specific billing types, multi-level customer hierarchies and international rollout from the start have long been part of our portfolio.
What healthcare commerce demands from a partner
Regulation under control
MDR, GDPR, pharmaceutical regulations, medical devices law. Compliance is mandatory, not an afterthought.
Complex B2B structures
Multi-level sales between manufacturer, wholesale, specialist trade and end customer. Roles, approvals and permissions cleanly mapped.
Billing & logistics
Private prescriptions, cost bearers, delivery deadlines, returns. Processes that are only allowed to work.
Zero downtime
Emergency services, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies. Here reliability decides over life and business.
B2B wholesale in 6 months: Bender Group
For the medical B2B wholesale of the Bender Group, we introduced a MACH stack of Emporix, Next.js and Contentserv. In six months, the B2B e-commerce was modernized. The result is automated processes and a scalable architecture that also supports the international expansion into Switzerland and France.
Medical wholesale rethought: servoprax
servoprax is one of the highest-revenue medical technology wholesalers in Europe. The assortment ranges from diagnostics to lab and practice supplies to ultrasound, X-ray and emergency products. The customers are wholesalers and specialist traders, medical supply stores, orthopedic and rehab technicians.
We support servoprax strategically in their digitalization. We assess existing processes, recommend new ones and connect medical practices to the systems, for example. Practices and specialist traders get their own subshop, including products and follow-up processes. In parallel, the existing Oxid shop continues to be maintained until the switch to the new tech stack is due.
The rescuers of the emergency station: 1A Medizintechnik
To digitize sales and open up new customer groups, we rethought the ordering process for emergency (rescue) stations and fire departments at 1A Medizintechnik. A progressive web app enables offline-capable orders directly via the mobile phone camera, even under operational conditions.
A clear separation between B2B and B2C: rescue station managers can allow approved colleagues to place orders up to a defined limit or approve them centrally. A configured dashboard shows the entire ordering, approval and delivery process at a glance. Dynamic product lists, filters and an intuitive interface make the platform immediately usable even for less tech-savvy users.
The family business 1A Medizintechnik supplies first responders, hospitals, emergency services and aid organizations as a specialist trader for emergency medicine. Constantly more than 10,000 items in stock.
D2C for pharma: Dr. Reddy's Laboratories
For the globally operating pharmaceutical group Dr. Reddy's, we developed a Europe-wide D2C online shop for the Nerivio neuromodulation armband. Instead of going through pharmacies, the company relies on direct sales. Patients get a private prescription from their family doctor, order the product online and have it delivered directly to their home.
The heart of the project is prescription validation. Implemented as an external microservice, it takes in uploaded prescription photos and passes them into manual review. Data protection was a central topic here: commercetools processes the data exclusively in Europe, and prescriptions are never permanently stored. Data minimization by design.
Nekom is used as middleware. Flexibly implemented, internationally resilient and designed for the challenges of modern e-commerce. Dr. Reddy's Laboratories is a specialist for generics and runs its own research. Worldwide, 21,000 employees work for the company.

The Guesswork Trap: Why digital projects fail before they begin
Most digital projects fail not because of the chosen technology, but because of a dangerous mix of unclear starting points, vague requirements and unclear responsibilities.
