Digital solutions for the healthcare market

Regulations. Complex B2B processes. Not new territory – but our everyday life as a strategic partner for healthcare commerce.

Different rules apply in the healthcare and medical technology sector: strict regulations, complex B2B structures, specific billing logic and customers who do not tolerate mistakes – because they simply cannot afford them. Anyone setting up digital sales here does not need a generalist. Instead, you need a partner who understands that every detail counts.

We have both: in-depth e-commerce expertise and a real understanding of the industry. We have stabilized and modernized wholesalers with dozens of subshops – without jeopardizing ongoing operations for a single day. A B2B commerce solution with PWA offline functionality was created for ambulance stations that fully automates ordering processes. And headless closed stores, which incorporate medical-specific billing types, multi-level customer hierarchies and international rollouts into their architecture from the outset, have long been part of our portfolio.

B2B e-commerce modernized in 6 months

Bender Group is a medical specialist and wholesaler that has fully digitized its B2B sales. It didn’t start with the technology, but with the question of what was really needed: Together, we developed a clear vision, defined the MVP and selected the appropriate systems on this basis – Emporix as the commerce backend, Next.js as the frontend, Contentserv as the PIM. At the same time, data flows, workflows, roles and responsibilities were set up cleanly before the first line of code was written.
This consistent MACH approach is the reason why the result is more than just a functioning store. It is a platform that fundamentally streamlines and optimizes processes. What used to require manual intervention is now automated.
And because the architecture was designed for expandability from the outset, the MVP creates what a good MVP should: a solid foundation for further expansion. Internationalization for Switzerland and France is already being planned – technically, the path has long since been paved.
bender group

The bender group has been an established partner for radiology products and services for over 50 years. The family-owned company supplies practices, clinics and medical facilities with contrast media, radiopharmaceuticals (CH), consumables/investment goods and much more.

The rescuers at the rescue station: 1A medical technology.

In order to digitalize sales and tap into new customer groups, we have opted for an e-commerce solution at 1A Medizintechnik. The focus here was on optimizing the ordering process for ambulance stations and fire departments.

By using a Progressive Web App (PWA), the guards now also have the option of recording and sending orders offline using cell phones and the camera function.

There are clear demarcations between B2B and B2C instances. It is possible for the rescue station manager to enable colleagues he has authorized to carry out orders up to a certain limit or to release orders. A configured dashboard gives the station manager a direct overview of the entire ordering, approval and delivery process.

With a clear demarcation between B2B and B2C users, theDynamic product lists and filter functions ensure that customers can find and put together the products they need quickly and easily. In addition, an intuitive user interface has been developed that is easy to use even for less tech-savvy users.

As a specialist retailer for emergency medicine, the family business 1A Medizintechnik always has over 10,000 items in stock and supplies first responders, hospitals, rescue services and aid organizations.

Medical wholesale taken to the next level: servoprax.

Servoprax offers a wide range of medical products, including diagnostics, laboratory and practice supplies, ultrasound and X-ray supplies as well as emergency products. Servoprax’s customers are medical technology wholesalers and specialist retailers as well as medical supply stores and orthopaedic and rehabilitation technicians.

We use our expertise to support Servoprax in driving forward its digitalization strategy. Specifically, we advise on the evaluation and recommendation of existing and new processes to be added, for example to connect medical practices to Servoprax’s systems. We also help with implementation by giving practices and specialist retailers the opportunity to manage a sub-shop with products and follow-up processes. We are currently also helping to manage the existing Oxid store, which is about to be upgraded to a new tech stack.

Since it was founded in 1987, servoprax GmbH has developed into one of the highest-turnover medical technology wholesalers in Europe. In addition to wholesalers and specialist retailers, the company supplies medical supply stores, orthopaedic and rehabilitation technicians.

With the right impulses to D2C success: Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.

We have developed a Europe-wide D2C online store for the global pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s, which sells the innovative neuromodulation wristband “Nerivio”.

Instead of distributing the medical product via pharmacies, the company relies on direct sales via a D2C online store. Patients can obtain a private prescription from their GP, use it to conveniently order the product online and have it delivered directly to their home.

One major challenge was prescription validation, which became an external microservice and is still in MVP status. Patients upload photos of their prescriptions, which are validated manually.

Data protection was also a key aspect of the project. With commercetools, we have implemented an e-commerce solution in which data processing takes place in Europe. In addition, special attention was paid to data economy: At no time is the doctor’s prescription stored permanently.

With Nekom, a flexible middleware solution was used that could be implemented quickly and is up to the challenges of modern e-commerce in an international environment

The Indian drug manufacturer Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is a specialist in generics, but also conducts its own research. The company has 21,000 employees worldwide.
