Digital Solutions for the Healthcare market
Pharma and Medical Technology?
Absolutely! Whether you’re a global pharmaceutical corporation, a wholesaler of medical devices, or a supplier for hospitals and emergency services—we understand the specific requirements and challenges that medical technology and pharmaceutical companies face today. Even though the cases are entirely different, they share one common factor—we listen first, search for the right tech stacks, and align on goals. Despite our fascination with digital technology, we’re not interested in technical gimmicks. What matters to us is what digital innovation delivers. For our clients. But also for their customers. In short: For all the people we have the privilege to accompany on the journey into the future of e-commerce.
Driving D2C Success with the Right Impulses: Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories
For the global pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s, we developed a Europe-wide D2C online store to sell the innovative neuromodulation armband “Nerivio.”
Rather than distributing the medical device through pharmacies, the company opted for direct sales via a D2C online shop. Patients can get a private prescription from their doctor, conveniently order the product online, and have it delivered straight to their home.
A major challenge was prescription validation, which became an external microservice and is still in its MVP stage. Patients upload photos of their prescriptions, which are manually validated.
Another crucial aspect of the project was data protection. Using commercetools, we implemented an e-commerce solution that ensures data processing occurs in Europe. Additionally, we focused on data minimization: at no point is the medical prescription stored permanently.
We also employed a flexible middleware solution from Nekom, which was quickly implemented and meets the demands of modern e-commerce in an international context.
The Indian pharmaceutical manufacturer Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories specializes in generics but also conducts its own research. The company employs 21,000 people worldwide.
The Rescuers of the Rescue Station: 1A Medizintechnik
To digitalize sales and reach new customer groups, we implemented an e-commerce solution for 1A Medical Technology, focusing on optimizing the ordering process for rescue stations and fire departments.
With the use of a Progressive Web App (PWA), the stations now have the capability to record and submit orders offline using mobile phones and the camera function.
There are clear distinctions between B2B and B2C instances. Station leaders can authorize specific team members to place orders up to a certain limit, or they can approve orders themselves. A customized dashboard enables the station leader to oversee the entire ordering, approval, and delivery process at a glance.
By clearly differentiating between B2B and B2C users, dynamic product lists and filtering functions ensure that customers can quickly and easily find and compile the products they need. In addition, an intuitive user interface was developed, making it easy to use, even for those with limited technical skills.
The family-run business 1A Medical Technology is a specialist supplier for emergency medicine, stocking over 10,000 items and providing supplies to first responders, hospitals, emergency services, and aid organizations.
Rethinking Medical Wholesale: servoprax.
Servoprax offers a wide range of medical products, including diagnostics, laboratory and practice supplies, ultrasound and radiology equipment, as well as emergency products. Servoprax’s customers are large-scale and specialist medical wholesalers, medical supply stores, and orthopedic and rehab technicians.
We support Servoprax with our expertise in advancing their digitalization strategy. Specifically, we provide guidance on evaluating and recommending existing and new processes to, for example, connect medical practices to Servoprax’s systems. Additionally, we assist in the implementation by enabling practices and specialist retailers to manage subshops equipped with products and follow-up processes. We are also currently overseeing the existing Oxid shop, while an expansion to a new tech stack is on the horizon.
Since its founding in 1987, servoprax GmbH has grown to become one of the highest-grossing medical wholesalers in Europe, supplying wholesalers, medical supply stores, and orthopedic and rehab technicians.
