BLACK AND YELLOW ONLINE FAN SHOP

For Borussia Dortmund’s online fan shop, BVB Merchandising GmbH relies on the enterprise e-commerce provider SHOPMACHER from Gescher in Westphalia. The Shopmacher are now taking care of the operation and, above all, the further development of the black and yellow platform for fan articles relating to the cult club from the Ruhr area.

SHOPMACHER COMPETENCE IN SHOP DEVELOPMENT CONVINCES BVB

The BVB online fan shop is based on Shopware software for both B2C and B2B business and has been delivering a solid performance in the sale of fan articles from the eight-time German champion for years. “As in top-flight football, standing still always means going backwards in online merchandising. We need and want constant further development of our online offers and services for our fan community and partners,” says Matthias Zerber, Managing Director of BVB Merchandising GmbH. “The Shopmacher are experts in the further development of enterprise platforms and also have a great deal of experience with Shopware. Therefore, the Shopmacher are an ideal addition to our merchandising team.”

SHOPMACHER ECOMMERCE HEALTH CHECK AS A PARALLEL TO VIDEO ANALYSIS

For the sporting management of BVB, the use of video analysis is a matter of course to uncover weaknesses and identify potential for optimization. Shopmacher proceed in a very similar way when continuously improving commerce platforms.

With the eCommerce Health Check, the Shopmacher have developed a standardized procedure to quickly and efficiently determine an overview of the overall condition of an eCommerce platform and immediately derive concrete action points for improvement. The online shops are checked in seven dimensions: system architecture, software, hosting, performance, deployment, UX and design as well as content.

“With our eCommerce Health Check, which we also use for BVB, shop operators can quickly, professionally and competently check the condition of their platform and identify optimization potential,” says Carsten Dütschke, initiator of the structured “Health Check” process model at Shopmacher. “That brings new impetus and better sales results – and that’s what retail is all about, after all.”

After completing the health check, BVB and the Shopmacher are now tackling the optimization process together.
