When did we become a Akeneo-Partner?

We have been an Akeneo partner since 2020. During our first year of collaboration, the focus was on knowledge exchange and onboarding our consultants to understand the system and its capabilities, and to explore its use within the system architectures we develop. Since the end of 2020, we’ve also been taking on implementation projects.

Why did we choose Akeneo as a Partner?

As implementers of commerce solutions, we take a long-term approach and grow alongside our select clients. Therefore, our success depends on theirs. Success in online commerce is closely tied to the quality of product data and data models. This makes first-class product data management essential for the success of our solutions, and we want to actively shape that.

What do we appreciate most about Akeneo?

We use Akeneo as a PIM because its cloud-based solution aligns perfectly with our best-of-breed strategy, which focuses on curating the best specialized solutions into a well-orchestrated system architecture via interfaces. This works best with native cloud services, whose strength lies in connectivity. Akeneo offers such a solution and is therefore a crucial component of an excellent customer experience, as it reliably delivers top-quality product data.

Moreover, Akeneo’s progressive approach is not just technical. Its user interface and configuration are highly intuitive, which helps us quickly convince potential clients of the solution’s benefits. It empowers them to become more independent and take control of their own data quality.

Features like the Rule Engine, tailored import/export options, granular permission management, and data quality insights provide immediate and tangible value to our clients and help make e-commerce more successful overall.

Our experience with Akeneo:

We currently use Akeneo’s solution for our clients Sport2000, schuhe.de, and S.E.A. Vertrieb. For Sport2000, we developed an Akeneo connector for the headless commercetools system in the fall of 2022.

Overall, we have implemented three e-commerce architectures since 2020 using Akeneo’s Product Cloud.

Retailers are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of top-quality product data, and the demand for effective PIM systems is growing.

Moreover, there’s a growing understanding that it simply makes sense to use each system component in an architecture where it excels: the shop handles checkout, the CRM manages customer data, the ERP oversees inventory, etc. We’re excited to continue promoting the MACH approach together with Akeneo.

Many self-developed solutions in the market still handle these tasks within a rigid system stack. These systems will gradually need to be replaced, and when it’s time to optimize product data management, Akeneo’s flexible cloud solution will undoubtedly be a top contender for many IT decision-makers.
